Open Call: your words as new music at Wonderfeel
The New European Ensemble and Wonderfeel have launched a special public call: for the new project What I Really Want to Say, we are looking for personal stories that will serve as the starting point for brand-new musical compositions. Anyone can participate by submitting a text; a message, memory, thought or wish that deserves to be heard.
Throughout music history, countless works have been created for special occasions: expressions of love, celebrations of birth, farewells, or acts of remembrance. With this project, Wonderfeel and the New European Ensemble continue that tradition, but this time the music begins with you. Big or small, serious or light, anything is welcome as long as it is sincere and personal.
From all submissions, four stories will be selected. These will inspire four composers with distinctive artistic voices: Elizabete Beāte Rudzinska, Jasper de Bock, Alice Yeung, and Hesce Mourits. They will transform the chosen texts into new compositions that will premiere on Sunday, 5 July, during Wonderfeel, in a special concert featuring conversations between composers and contributors, in collaboration with NPO Klassiek.
Selected participants will be involved in the creative process, invited to attend rehearsals, and will receive a recording of their composition afterwards.
Submissions are open until 20 February.
Send your text (maximum 200 words) to info@wonderfeel.nl
