Privacy Statement of the New European Ensemble Foundation, as referred to in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR – EU / OJ EU 2016 L 119)
The New European Ensemble Foundation (Chamber of Commerce no. 51401711), based in The Hague, is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy statement.
In this privacy statement, we explain which personal data we collect for the New European Ensemble Foundation (www.neweuropeanensemble.com) and for what purposes. We always strive to handle your data correctly and confidentially and therefore secure and process it with due care. Protection against loss or unlawful processing forms part of this.

To ensure that a request for access is made by you personally, we ask that you include a copy of your identity document with your request. We advise you to black out your photo, the MRZ (machine-readable zone, the strip of numbers at the bottom of the passport), the passport number, and the citizen service number (BSN), in order to protect your privacy.
We will respond as quickly as possible, but in any case within four weeks. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). This can be done via their website.
Records and Administration
The storage, sharing, and use of personal data fall within the normal business operations of the Foundation, for the purpose of setting up and managing various processes and records and being able to account for them. This concerns the following records:
- Customer registration;
- Financial administration, including any exchange with the accountant;
- Musicians database.
Personal Data We Process
The New European Ensemble processes your personal data because you make use of its services and have provided these data for that purpose.
Below is an overview of the personal data we manage and process.
For all of the above-mentioned records:
- Salutation (gender)
- First name (and/or initials) and last name
- Telephone numbers
- Email address
- Bank account number (IBAN)
Additional data for customer registration:
- Nature, scope, and frequency of the order
- Concert attendance / ticket delivery
Additional data for the financial (personnel and payroll) administration:
- Private address details
- Company details
- Citizen service number (BSN)
- Chamber of Commerce number
- Date and place of birth
- Nationality
- Marital status
- Identity documents, including validity
- Account holder name of bank account
Additional data for the musicians database:
- Voice type or instrument
- Emergency contact (“in case of emergency”) (name and telephone number)
Purposes
The New European Ensemble processes the above data for one or more of the following purposes:
- Sending periodic online newsletters
We offer a newsletter to interested parties. This is only provided if you have explicitly given consent. You provide your email address for this purpose, after which we can send the newsletters. Each newsletter contains a link allowing you to unsubscribe. The newsletter subscription database is not shared with third parties. - Online concert notifications (sent occasionally based on your postal code)
- Shipping of purchases from our webshop
- Research and statistical purposes
We process data, among other things, to generate and collect statistical information about our audience. The results of these studies cannot be traced back to natural persons. The anonymous data are used for accountability towards our funding bodies and also serve as input for our programming and marketing policy. - Answering questions and/or handling your complaints or comments
- Combining data from various sources in order to make special offers to you
Retention Period
Data are not kept longer than necessary for the purpose for which they were collected. In doing so, we take into account the obligations imposed on us by laws and regulations.
Disclosure to / by Third Parties
The New European Ensemble never provides personal data to third parties unless this is necessary for the performance of an agreement, we are (or become) legally obliged to do so, we have a legitimate or general interest in doing so, or we have obtained explicit consent.
The New European Ensemble usually does not sell concert tickets itself. The Ensemble therefore has agreements with several concert halls and theatres, whereby the relevant venue shares personal data with the Ensemble. We collect and register the personal data provided at purchase or otherwise and use these data to perform the service or to inform the data subject about (future) performances.
For the (possible) mailing of printed materials (newsletters, magazines, or other postal communications), we share your name and address details with the organization responsible for distribution. By means of a so-called data processing agreement, we ensure that third parties may not use your data for purposes other than the intended one (i.e. physical distribution). The data provided are deleted once the intended purpose has been achieved.
Image and Sound Recordings During Concerts
The New European Ensemble reserves the right to make or have image and/or sound recordings made of the concert or performance attended by the visitor. The visitor will not raise any copyright or other objections to the use of their portrait or likeness as part of the publication of these events.
Cookies
When you leave a comment on our site, you may indicate whether your name, email address, and website may be stored in a cookie. We do this for your convenience so that you do not have to re-enter these details for a new comment. These cookies are valid for one year.
If you visit our login page, we place a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted as soon as you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set a number of cookies to store your login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days and screen preference cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember me,” your login will be saved for two weeks. When you log out of your account, the login cookies are removed.
When you edit or publish a post, an additional cookie is stored by your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and only includes the post ID of the article you edited. This cookie expires after one day.
We use Google Analytics. Its use provides us with important information about the number of visitors, visited pages, and other essential data that allow us to continuously improve our website. These statistics are anonymous and cannot be traced back to a specific person or user.
Third parties also place cookies, such as X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and YouTube. These cookies make it possible to share messages directly on these social media platforms. We have no influence over how these media providers handle the information obtained.
The New European Ensemble works with Meta for Facebook Ads.
