Gubaidulina Festival (2018)
Two days of immersion in the world of this icon.
The Russian composer Sofia Gubaidulina (1931) is one of the most remarkable voices in contemporary music. Her work is completely original, deeply rooted in spirituality, crystal clear, and extremely precise.
The New European Ensemble invited her to The Hague for a retrospective of her work. On October 5 and 6, 2018, the New European Ensemble, the Residentie Orkest The Hague, and students of the Royal Conservatoire present a selection from her oeuvre — from early atonal compositions from the Soviet era to recently written works.
