Call for submissions: your words as new music at Wonderfeel
The New European Ensemble and Wonderfeel are launching a unique public call: for the new project What I Really Want to Say, we are looking for personal stories to form the basis of brand-new compositions. Anyone can participate by submitting a text—a message, a memory, a thought, or a wish that deserves to be heard.
Throughout music history, countless works have been born from a special occasion: a love, a birth, a farewell, or a commemoration. With this project, Wonderfeel and the New European Ensemble continue that tradition, but this time, the music begins with the audience itself. Large or small, serious or lighthearted—everything is welcome, as long as it is personal and sincere.
The Process
Four stories will be selected from all submissions to serve as inspiration for four composers with distinct artistic voices: Elizabete Beāte Rudzinska, Jasper de Bock, Alice Yeung, and Hesce Mourits. They will translate the chosen texts into new compositions that will premiere on Sunday, July 5th during Wonderfeel, in a special concert featuring conversations between the composers and the “commissioners,” in collaboration with NPO Klassiek.
What to expect if selected:
- Active involvement in the creative process.
- Access to rehearsals.
- A recording of the final composition.
How to enter
You can submit your entry until February 20th by emailing a text of up to 200 words to info@wonderfeel.nl.
